The leading football digital media company announces commitment to grow women’s football and celebrates its 101st partner club.
London, UK – 6 March 2020
Dugout, the world’s only digital media company co-owned by 10 football clubs, has today announced Madrid Club de Fútbol Femenino (Madrid CFF) as its first dedicated women’s club.
The announcement, which coincides with the global celebration of International Women’s Day on 8 March, demonstrates Dugout’s commitment to actively increase the visibility of women’s football – with Madrid CFF having a dedicated channel on Dugout.com and distributing their content via its global network of premium publishers.
Dugout has been promoting the women’s game since 2019 with content channels for established women’s teams, including Arsenal Women Football Club, Manchester City Women andTottenham Hotspur Women’s club.
Adding Madrid CFF to the current portfolio of women’s football content on Dugout will build on the momentum of last year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup™ – which saw an unprecedented level of interest and demonstrated the huge appetite for women’s football content. Dugout has observed significant growth in fan engagement with women’s football content on its digital platforms reaching over 2 million views within 3 months and it will continue to boost the quantity of women’s football channels and enhance the profile of the women’s game globally.
Dugout will further demonstrate its commitment to encouraging engagement and participation in women’s football by launching a week of celebration dedicated to some of the greatest female footballers in the world. During the celebration, which starts on International Women’s Day and runs until 16 March, fans will have the chance to win signed merchandise, including shirts from England and Manchester City captain Steph Houghton, Tottenham Hotspur’s Rianna Dean and Club Nacional de Football and Uruguay star Esperanza Pizarro, to name just a few.
