Deportivo Independiente Medellín become the second Colombian club to join Dugout’s global collection of clubs, leagues and federations.
London, UK – May 8 2020: Dugout has today announced a new partnership with Deportivo Independiente Medellín (DIM) with new dedicated channels launched on Dugout.com, Dugout’s App and available across its network of premium publishers sharing exclusive content from the Medellín based club.
Nicknamed ‘El Poderoso de la Montaña’ or the ‘The Mighty of the Mountain’ due to Medellín’s location in the Andean mountains, DIM currently play in the top tier of Colombian football, the Categoría Primera A. Founded in 1913, DIM has a rich history, and has won the Categoría Primera A six times and the Copa Colombia twice, most recently securing the titles in 2016 and 2019 respectively. DIM shares its stadium, the Estadio Atanasio Giradot, which seats over 40,000 passionate fans, with the other major football club of the city. The two clubs have a fierce rivalry, with the most loyal supporters from each club occupying opposing positions in the stadium. DIM’s supporters are named Rexixtenxia Norte due to sitting in the North of the stadium.
The loyal supporters of ‘El Poderoso de la Montaña’ will now be able to view exclusive, behind-the-scenes and match footage on Dugout’s app, website and publisher network, giving them a new way to connect with their beloved club. By partnering with Dugout, DIM sit alongside some of the world’s top football clubs, including A.C.
